Yakov Smirnoff is set to bring laughter back to the Branson stage in 2024! His comedic insights into American life, along with his heartfelt reflections on love and the rollercoaster of experiences, have kept him a beloved figure in comedy for years. This delightful Russian immigrant captured our hearts during the 70s and 80s, becoming a staple on television talk shows with his stand-up routines. He even shared the screen with iconic actors like Jack Nicholson, Tom Hanks, and the late Richard Pryor and Robin Williams. His filmography includes titles such as Brewster’s Millions, Moscow on the Hudson, The Money Pit, and Heartburn, while he also had a memorable role on Night Court. Notably, he was a friend of President Ronald Reagan, contributing to the late President's speechwriting team.
Yakov's aspiration to be the quintessential U.S. citizen extended beyond his oath; he pursued an impressive academic journey, earning a degree in Applied Positive Psychology from the esteemed University of Pennsylvania and a doctorate in Psychology and Global Leadership from Pepperdine University. He effectively utilizes this knowledge by teaching courses on Happiness and Laughter, blending his innate wisdom and humor with a keen awareness of human behavior to keep audiences entertained worldwide!
