Golf Courses

Golf in the Ozarks is hill-country golf. Elevation change does most of the work that hazards do elsewhere, blind shots are common, and a course that measures short on the card can play considerably longer.

One course is listed here: Thousand Hills Golf Course, a par-64 layout close to the 76 Country Boulevard strip with a resort attached. Its short yardage is deceptive – the terrain is the defence, and it is a genuinely enjoyable round rather than a resort afterthought. Because the resort sits on site, it is also the easiest option if you want to play in the morning and be at a theater by evening without driving across town.

This is a thin list, and we would rather say so than inflate it. There are more courses in the wider Branson and Table Rock Lake area than are catalogued here yet. If golf is the centre of your trip rather than an afternoon of it, the stay-and-play packages on the lodging side of the site are worth checking, since several properties bundle tee times.
