Branson's Famous Baldknobbers is not merely another entry in the extensive lineup of shows; it is the production that established live entertainment in Branson, Missouri! Named after the group of vigilante lawmen who roamed the Ozarks in the late 1800s, this talented ensemble continually updates their music and comedy each year. Offering a vibrant performance consistently, the cast features second and third generations of the family that began this journey back in 1959.
While the Baldknobbers have always focused on country music, they also incorporate modern hits alongside beloved classic country tunes into their repertoire. Their musical journey traces back to the renowned Ozark Jubilee, a popular show that reached a national audience from Springfield, Missouri. The Mabe brothers launched their musical careers near the downtown Branson lakefront, performing in a historic venue that eventually became too small, prompting them to join Branson's other entertainment pioneers, the Presleys, on Highway 76. This marked the beginning of what would evolve into the world-famous "Strip," renowned for its live entertainment, attractions, shopping, and dining.
The legacy of Branson's Famous Baldknobbers is so significant that their original costumes, instruments, and various artifacts are showcased at the Smithsonian Institution’s National Museum of American History!
