Forsyth

Forsyth sits east of Branson on Lake Taneycomo, and this is a short list – seven restaurants – which is honest for a town of its size.

Forsyth Main Street Cafe is the local anchor and the one worth the drive if you want a small-town breakfast or lunch away from the strip. OAXACA Mexican Restaurant is the sit-down dinner option and gives the town a proper Mexican kitchen. Hong Kong Express covers Chinese and Frosted Mug the drive-in end, with Subway, Sonic and McDonald’s filling out the rest.

Forsyth is a reasonable base if you want to be near the water and away from Branson’s traffic, but plan on eating in town or driving back toward Branson for variety – the Hollister list is closer to the strip and considerably deeper, and the full Branson restaurant directory runs to several hundred entries.
