What Is Field of Screams Branson?
Field of Screams Branson is a new indoor haunted attraction for 2026 at 1000 Pat Nash Dr, inside the Ballparks of America sports complex. Its main haunted house is called 9th Inning Nightmare. It runs Thursday to Sunday nights in October from 7pm, then has a short holiday crossover run in November.
Field of Screams also runs an outdoor haunt in Nixa. In May 2026, local news station OzarksFirst reported that the company would also be haunting Branson this fall, and that the Branson site sits in a former mall building on the Ballparks of America campus under a multi-year sublease, at roughly 40,000 square feet, and that the ballpark keeps running its fall tournaments alongside it.
The haunt itself is themed around an abandoned arena. The attraction describes dark corridors, tunnels and fog-filled passageways, with live actors, animatronics, special effects, fog and strobes. If anyone in your group is sensitive to flashing light, that last detail is worth knowing before you buy.
The operator describes the site as a haunted attraction complex that goes beyond a traditional haunted house. It lists escape rooms, laser tag, midway-style games, concessions and themed retail on site, and pitches the complex both for intense scares and for a full night of entertainment.
Field of Screams Branson Dates and Hours
The remaining October nights from mid-month are Thursday October 15 to Sunday October 18, Thursday October 22 to Sunday October 25, and Thursday October 29 to Saturday October 31. The Halloween and Christmas crossover nights are Friday November 6, Saturday November 7, Friday November 13 and Saturday November 14.
- Box office opens at 6pm.
- Thursday and Sunday: 7pm to 11pm.
- Friday and Saturday: 7pm to midnight.
We could not find ticket prices or a minimum age on its main pages, so check both on its ticket page before you go. It is an indoor attraction, so if your trip lands on a wet weekend it can sit alongside the ideas in our guide to things to do in Branson when it rains.
What Is The Curse at The Branson Coaster?
The Curse at The Branson Ghoster Coaster is a haunted night ride at The Branson Coaster, 2115 W. 76 Country Blvd. It runs Friday and Saturday nights in October from 7pm to 10pm, with live scares. The coaster recommends it for ages 13 and up, and it needs a special event ticket.
The story is a sealed mine and a curse that spreads to riders. Guests go into the darkness of the cursed mine, face whatever is waiting, then ride the coaster, and anyone who makes it through earns an “I Survived” sticker. The coaster says the event features live scares, frightening characters and dark environments, and content that may not be appropriate for younger children.
Read the ticket rules before you book, because they catch people out. The Haunted Coaster needs its own special event ticket. Regular coaster tickets, third-party tickets, discounts and coupons are not accepted for it.
Younger children are not shut out entirely. The coaster says guests 12 and under are welcome to visit in the daytime, when the Halloween decorations are still up but there is no live scaring. Normal hours of 11am to 6pm continue on haunt nights.
The coaster lists the haunt as Friday and Saturday nights in October without naming individual dates, so confirm the exact night, including Halloween on Saturday October 31, when you buy your ticket.
Is There a Haunted House Included in a Regular Ticket?
Yes. Retromania, the 1980s themed attraction at 3307 West 76 Country Blvd, includes its Slashers haunted house with a regular admission ticket, alongside its 80s museum and black light mini golf. A regular ticket is $18.95 for an adult and $13.95 for a child.
Retromania’s ticket also covers the Retro Rocker black light mini golf course and the 80s museum, and a ticket with one virtual reality ride costs $23.95 for an adult and $18.95 for a child. Escape games are extra, at $26.95 per person. The attraction says admission tickets are good for up to six months after purchase, and it points visitors to its calendar for open dates.
We could not find an age recommendation for Slashers on Retromania’s site. If you are unsure whether it suits a younger child, call ahead on 417-544-0143. You can see the listing on our Retromania page.
Is Field of Screams Nixa Worth the Drive?

If you want an outdoor haunt built for adults and older teens, yes. Field of Screams Nixa sits at Summers at the River, 2142 N. Sports Complex Ln., Nixa. It runs two attractions, a Haunted Forest and a clown-themed haunt called Coulrophobia, and both open at 7pm and close at midnight.
Its own FAQ is blunt about how scary it is. Asked how frightening the attraction is, the answer is “Very”, followed by a warning that it is not recommended for young children or anyone with heart conditions. It recommends guests be at least 10 to 12 years old, advises parental discretion, and requires children to be with an adult.
Field of Screams Nixa Dates
From mid-October, the remaining nights are Friday October 16 to Sunday October 18, Friday October 23 to Sunday October 25, Thursday October 29 to Saturday October 31, and a closing night on Sunday November 1. Every night runs 7pm to midnight.
What to Know Before You Go to Nixa
- Each attraction takes about 20 to 35 minutes, depending on group size and pace, and the operator suggests allowing at least 90 minutes if you do both.
- Buying online is strongly recommended. Gate tickets are not guaranteed on busy nights, and tickets are non-refundable. If weather cancels a night, the operator says it will work with ticket holders to reschedule.
- Wear closed-toe shoes. The ground includes uneven grass and gravel, and you will be outside on an October night.
- Parking on the property is free.
- Actors are trained not to touch guests.
- Phones are allowed, but flash photography inside the attractions is not, and pets are not permitted.
Are There Haunted Places in Branson?
Branson’s ghost stories are told on a nightly walking tour downtown. Spirits on the Strip Branson Ghost Tour meets outside the Historic Owen Theatre at 205 S Commercial St and covers about a mile in an hour. Among the locations the tour company features are the Branson Scenic Railway, the Historic Owen Theatre and the Plum Bazaar building.
This is a walking tour rather than a haunted house, which makes it a different kind of night from the haunts above. The tour company describes the Historic Owen Theatre as Branson’s oldest entertainment venue and says the Plum Bazaar building was once the site of a brothel and saloon. These are the operator’s stories, so treat them as the tour’s legends rather than recorded history.
The operator says tours run nightly and that you only need to bring your ID, with no printed ticket. It also mentions a bonus extended tour to more haunted locations, so ask about it when you book. If you want dinner first, our guide to where to eat in Branson can help you pick a dinner before the walk.
What Are the Family Options at Shepherd of the Hills?

Shepherd of the Hills, at 5585 W 76 Country Blvd, has two fall options it pitches at families. Haunted Copperhead Mountain Coaster Nights add Halloween effects to Friday and Saturday rides through October 31. Sleepy Hollow is a fall 2026 outdoor play based on the Washington Irving story, at the Thurman Old Mill Outdoor Theater.
Haunted Copperhead Mountain Coaster Nights
Shepherd of the Hills describes these as a fun, family friendly night, with spooky effects and decorations along the uphill track. Haunted rides run Friday and Saturday in October from dusk to 10pm, and the operator also lists shorter hours of dusk to 8pm for October 14 and 15. Every rider has to fill out a waiver, then check in at the ticket window for a paper ticket, even if you bought online.
Published prices are $17.95 plus tax for a single driver and $12.95 plus tax for a passenger. Passengers must be at least 38 inches tall and 3 to 15 years old, and a driver carrying a passenger must be at least 54 inches tall and 16 or older. See our Copperhead Mountain Coaster listing for the ride itself.
Sleepy Hollow at Shepherd of the Hills
The Legend of Sleepy Hollow follows the schoolmaster Ichabod Crane and the Headless Horseman, staged in the open air at the historic mill. Shepherd of the Hills pitches it at families, thrill seekers and lovers of folklore alike. Tickets are $49.95 for an adult and $29.95 for a child aged 4 to 12, before taxes and fees, and children 3 and under are free.
We could not find performance dates on the show page, so check showtimes when you book. Online and phone tickets must be printed and picked up at the main ticket office, and cancellations are free up to 48 hours before the show. Our Sleepy Hollow show page has the listing, and more of the season’s events are in our guide to visiting Branson in the fall.
Which Night Should You Go?
If you want to do more than one haunt, a Friday or Saturday in the second half of October has the most haunts listed in the table below. Field of Screams Branson, Field of Screams Nixa and the Copperhead haunted rides all list those nights, and The Curse runs on Friday and Saturday nights in October.
On October Sundays the haunts listed are the two Field of Screams sites and the ghost tour, and on Thursdays October 15 and 22 Field of Screams Branson and the ghost tour list those nights, with Shepherd of the Hills also listing coaster hours for October 15.
| Night | What is running |
|---|---|
| Thursday October 15 and 22 | Field of Screams Branson, ghost tour (Shepherd of the Hills also lists coaster hours for October 15) |
| Friday and Saturday, October 16 to 17, 23 to 24 and 30 to 31 | Field of Screams Branson, Field of Screams Nixa, Haunted Copperhead Nights, ghost tour, plus The Curse (Friday and Saturday nights in October) |

| Sunday November 1 | Field of Screams Nixa closing night |
| November 6, 7, 13 and 14 | Field of Screams Branson Halloween and Christmas crossover event |
Halloween falls on a Saturday in 2026. Field of Screams Branson, Field of Screams Nixa and the Haunted Copperhead Nights all list October 31, and The Curse runs on Friday and Saturday nights in October. The Field of Screams Nixa site warns that gate availability is not guaranteed on peak nights, so if you are set on October 30 or 31, buy tickets ahead.
How Should You Plan a Haunted Night in Branson?
Pick your haunt first, then build the evening around its opening time. The seasonal haunts start at 7pm or at dusk, which leaves time for an early dinner or a show. The Curse, Copperhead and Retromania all have 76 Country Boulevard addresses, which may make it easier to pair two of them in one night.
A few things make the night go smoothly:
- Check the age advice for each attraction against the youngest person in your group before you buy anything.
- Bring a jacket. Nixa and the coaster rides are outdoors.
- Buy online where the operator recommends it, and keep in mind that the Field of Screams Nixa tickets are non-refundable.
- For The Curse, buy the special event ticket. A regular coaster ticket or a coupon will not get you in.
- If a show is part of your trip, our Branson shows listings cover what is playing.
